I just completed a two-week gymnastics unit with my students, and the impact of your donation was immediate and obvious. Because of the mats, students were able to safely practice a wide range of gymnastics skills, including animal walks, rolls, weight transfers, flight skills, and balances, many of which were brand new and a little intimidating at first.\r\n\r\nDuring the second week, our unit culminated in station rotations where the donated mats were essential for safety at every station, including jumping and landing, vault, gymnastics bar, balance beam, weight transfers, rolling, animal movements, and floor balance practice. It was incredibly rewarding to watch students challenge themselves, step outside their comfort zones, and try skills they might not have attempted without the added confidence and safety the mats provided. I truly saw more smiles, laughter, and \"I didn't think I could do that!\" moments over the past two weeks than ever before. While self-control was practiced enthusiastically... let's just say we're still working on perfecting it!\r\n\r\nI'm excited to continue the momentum by sharing this same gymnastics unit with Mr. Deutsch's students over the next two weeks. Your generosity is helping students stay safe, build confidence, and discover new ways their bodies can move, all while having a lot of fun.
