Your support goes beyond funding—it brings hope, dignity, and a stronger future for every child we serve.\r\n\r\nWe are truly thankful for your commitment to this mission and for believing in the potential of every student. Many of my students are nonverbal or have motor speech challenges, and this technology allows them to communicate, participate, and demonstrate understanding in ways that were previously difficult. Through visual supports, AAC tools, interactive sequencing activities, and digital reinforcement, students are able to engage with literacy, math, and social-emotional lessons more independently. Instead of being passive learners, they are active participants. The technology reduces barriers and increases access to grade-level content in a developmentally appropriate way.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the immediate interaction and feedback. They love seeing their responses come to life on the screen, hearing audio support, and touching interactive elements that respond to them. For students who struggle with verbal expression, the ability to select an answer and have it read aloud builds confidence and joy. The technology feels empowering to them—it gives them a voice and a sense of independence.\r\n\r\nOne of my kindergarten students with motor speech articulation challenges has especially connected with this technology. In traditional activities, he often becomes frustrated when his speech is not clearly understood. With digital communication supports and visual response options, he can fully participate in sequencing stories and answering comprehension questions. I have seen a noticeable increase in his engagement, confidence, and willingness to take academic risks. For him, this technology is not just a tool—it is access, dignity, and opportunity.","fullyFundedDate":1763735972815,"projectUrl":"project/interactive-learning-style/9855499/","projectTitle":"Interactive Learning Style","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Gettis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9875263_orig.jpg?crop=785,785,x0,y549&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1736397008469","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9875263"},{"teacherId":9065230,"projectId":9599695,"letterContent":"I am thrilled and deeply grateful for your support to the classroom. Your support has made a meaningful difference for our students. For many children, talking about trauma or deep emotions can feel too personal and too difficult. They often don't have the words, and sometimes they don't want to speak at all. These books give them a way in. When a child reads about feelings like grief, anger, loneliness, or being different, it helps them realize these experiences are part of being human. Seeing their own struggles reflected on the page brings a sense of relief: they're not the only one, and their feelings make sense.\r\n\r\nThe stories you provided help normalize big emotions and offer language for children who can't express their experiences directly. A child who might not describe their own pain can easily talk about a character, and from there, we gently open the door to their own feelings. These books make sessions deeper, more meaningful, and more accessible. They allow me to offer psychoeducation in a way that feels safe, comforting, and developmentally appropriate.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our students' emotional well-being and for giving them tools to understand themselves better. The new board games and play materials you provided have already brought so much warmth and joy into our counseling room and into the lives of our students.\r\n\r\nOur school serves an underserved community, and many of our young kids don't have access to a wide variety of toys at home. Walking into a room filled with choices—games, figurines, sensory items, and materials that invite imagination—gives them something they rarely experience: the freedom to choose what speaks to them. It has been amazing to watch how each child gravitates toward something different. Their choices show so much of their unique personalities, interests, and inner worlds.\r\n\r\nThis new richness and variety in the room has made the space feel more welcoming and safe. Kids come in and immediately spot something that makes them curious or excited. For children who often carry stress or big feelings, being able to enter a room that feels full, colorful, and inviting helps them settle into play more easily. It gives them permission to simply be kids—to explore, create, imagine, and enjoy themselves in a way that is both healing and developmentally important.\r\n\r\nThank you for choosing to support a school that doesn't always have the resources to provide these opportunities.
