This printer has already made a big impact on how our students learn and engage in the classroom. Having access to high-quality color printing allows us to create clear, visual supports that are essential for our special education students. We've used it to print labels for bins, binders, and cabinets so supplies are easy to find and return, helping students build independence, stay organized, and feel more confident in their space.\r\n\r\nWhat excites our students most is seeing their work printed in bright, professional-quality color. We created a large classroom schedule in our school colors that is now clearly visible every day, helping students track time, understand routines, and transition more smoothly throughout the day. The printer has also been a huge part of our school-wide I.B. community project. We printed photos of our students volunteering in the community, which truly brought our showcase to life. Seeing themselves represented made our students feel proud, valued, and connected to their community.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially warmed to this new technology, particularly those who benefit from visual learning and structure. Students who previously struggled with organization or anxiety around routines are now more engaged and independent because visuals are clear, consistent, and accessible. We are so excited to continue using the HP Smart Tank 600 printer for future creative and academic projects. We cannot thank our donors and DonorsChoose enough for believing in our students and helping them succeed. Since receiving these new resources, we have been able to create more structured and meaningful practice routines. The bat racks help keep our equipment organized and accessible, teaching students responsibility and respect for shared materials. The portable hitting and pitching nets allow students to safely practice their swings and throws anywhere, giving them more opportunities to build confidence and consistency during practice time.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new equipment, they were genuinely excited and motivated. They immediately wanted to try everything and took pride in setting up and using the materials correctly. It was clear that having real, high-quality equipment made them feel valued and inspired to work harder as a team. The adjustable batting tees have been especially helpful, as they allow students of all skill levels to focus on proper technique, coordination, and improvement at their own pace.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include using these tools during skill-building stations, goal-setting activities, and team practices where students can track their progress and reflect on their growth. With your support, we are creating a positive and well-equipped learning environment where every student can develop confidence, discipline, and a lasting love for the game. We are using the resistance bands as part of our warm-up and arm-care routines, helping students build strength safely while learning the importance of injury prevention and proper conditioning. The swing trainers have become a favorite tool during batting practice, allowing students to focus on mechanics, timing, and consistency while seeing immediate improvement in their swings.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new equipment, their excitement was instant. They were eager to try everything and took real ownership of the materials, treating them like professional tools rather than just sports equipment. Seeing their faces light up as they realized someone believed in them enough to support their growth was a powerful moment.\r\nThe next steps for our students include incorporating these resources into structured skill-building sessions, goal setting, and reflection on personal improvement. Beyond physical development, these tools are helping students build discipline, confidence, and resilience—skills that extend far beyond the field. Because of our donors, students now have a safer, more effective way to train and the motivation to keep pushing themselves to be their best.","fullyFundedDate":1762267673353,"projectUrl":"project/building-proper-mechanics/9540672/","projectTitle":"Building Proper Mechanics","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Goodin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5097307_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1516392989676","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5097307"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_122754","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":401,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":75,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":122754,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Summit Charter Intermediate Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Summit Charter Intermediate Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/burton-school-district/summit-charter-intermediate-academy/122754"}
