When the items first arrived, the students were absolutely thrilled to open the boxes and see items chosen just for them. While the essential Kleenex and Lysol wipes have kept our environment clean and healthy throughout the year, the learning materials are still a daily highlight in our special education room.\r\n\r\nA specific moment that stands out is watching the students use the stem blocks. They have been working hard to put them together, which is amazing for their fine motor skills and spatial awareness. There is so much pride on their faces when they connect the pieces and share what they built. We have also been using the magnetic greater than, less than, and equal to symbols right on our dry erase boards. This visual, hands-on approach has made math concepts click much faster for them, turning a challenging lesson into an interactive game.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, our next steps are to keep building on these foundational skills. We are using the stem blocks to introduce simple engineering challenges, encouraging the students to plan and create specific structures together. In math, we are stepping up our comparison activities by using the magnetic symbols with larger numbers and word problems. Your generosity provided the exact items we needed to make learning accessible and engaging, and we appreciate your support so much.","fullyFundedDate":1716051316064,"projectUrl":"project/stem-for-our-little-critical-thinkers-wi/8409780/","projectTitle":"STEM for Our Little Critical Thinkers with Runny Noses","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Beltran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5428821_orig.jpg?crop=1050,1050,x63,y441&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1651240099477","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5428821"},{"teacherId":9117359,"projectId":9844481,"letterContent":"Headphones have made a big difference in helping my students access digital content clearly while keeping our classroom calm and focused. Instead of multiple devices playing out loud, students can fully concentrate on their lessons, replay directions as needed, and work more independently. When we unboxed them the kids had big smiles on their faces. The colors and the design of the headsets are wonderful. These headsets are far more comfortable on my younger students than anything we have had in the past. These headsets are just the right size for my first and second graders. Additionally, there is a lot of padding around the ears which makes it comfortable. Best of all, I have not had to spend any time trouble shooting sound issues while the kids are using their iPads and headsets. This means more valuable teaching time for me. This will be crucial this year with the combination class!\r\nMy wonderful students know that this gift was provided by supporters like you and they have been taking extra care with their headset, always putting it away with care.
