Allowing my students to work in small groups or individually on specific basic skills will give them the opportunities to build on their struggling skills. Using different types of ways to teach the basic skills will make learning "fun" and new to the students. Using the pen will give them instant feedback. Students want to know how they are doing right away and with Power Pen it will give them this instant feedback. The learning center will encourage peer play while learning. Most general education classrooms are doing group projects and encouraging peer play will help foster these relationships and make it easier on the special education students as they participate in these activities with their general education peers.
