Many of them took time to organize their materials and try out the markers and pencils right away. For some, having their own supplies made a big difference in feeling prepared and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe've been using these resources in a variety of ways—students are creating colorful timelines, organizing their notes and assignments in folders, and completing work more confidently with their own pencils. The materials have helped make lessons more interactive and have supported better organization in the classroom.\r\n\r\nNext, students will be working on group projects where they will use these supplies to plan, create, and present their work. These tools are helping create a more engaged and productive learning environment for everyone.","fullyFundedDate":1750871904990,"projectUrl":"project/help-give-students-the-essentials-needed/9376892/","projectTitle":"Help Give Students the Essentials Needed for Equity and Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Tran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8176894_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748027118237","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8176894"},{"teacherId":8176894,"projectId":9177293,"letterContent":"When the boxes arrived, my students' faces lit up with pure excitement. They immediately began exploring the colorful crayons and markers, organizing their new pencil pouches, and trying out the wireless clickers. One student held up her pouch and said, \"Now I won't lose my pencils anymore!\" — a simple but powerful sign that these materials are making a difference.\r\n\r\nWe've already put the supplies to work. In one recent lesson, students used the dry erase sticker dots on their desks to map out story ideas and solve math problems collaboratively. The wireless clickers turned a review session into an engaging game, where every student was able to share their answers instantly. Headphones have transformed our independent reading time during digital lessons, allowing students to focus without distractions.\r\n\r\nThese resources have brought an energy and organization to our classroom that didn't exist before. Students are more engaged, more willing to participate, and better equipped to take ownership of their learning. Next, we'll be using the materials for a collaborative research project where students will brainstorm, plan, and present their findings in creative, interactive ways — all made possible by the tools donors helped provide.\r\n\r\nBecause of this project, my students now see our classroom as a place where they have the tools and support to succeed every day.","fullyFundedDate":1746543978364,"projectUrl":"project/equipping-students-for-success-with-esse/9177293/","projectTitle":"Equipping Students for Success with Essential Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Tran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8176894_orig.jpg?crop=640,640,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748027118237","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8176894"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_27513","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2024,"numTeachers":87,"percentFrplEligible":50,"percentAsian":32,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"23.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":88.2,"schoolId":27513,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about John F Kennedy High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"John F Kennedy High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/anaheim-union-high-school-district/john-f-kennedy-high-school/27513"}
