Our students had the opportunity to learn through hands-on experience by growing their vegetables from seeds to harvest.\r\n\r\nOur teachers appreciated the donation to make this garden possible. They extended their science lessons by having students prepare the planters with soil and mulch. Some classes planted vegetables from seeds while other started their garden plot with seedlings. Students enjoyed coming to the garden two to three times a week to water and check on their plants. \r\n\r\nDuring the last few weeks of the school year, students harvested vegetables they grew. And they will continue to have their future teachers do the same. As them complete their educational journey, they will have a book full of special words from all their teachers. What a wonderful keepsake this will be for our little TK friends. \r\n\r\nI know they will treasure this book for years to come, and look back fondly of their early school years. Your generous donation has had a deeply positive impact on our students, fostering a unique, hands-on learning experience that has enriched our curriculum in ways we could never have anticipated.\r\n\r\nThroughout the year, both our general education students and MDD students have thoroughly enjoyed working with the soil, planting seedlings, and most importantly, watching their hard work come to life as the plants begin to grow. For many of our students, this garden has provided an invaluable connection to the earth and the natural world, offering lessons in patience, responsibility, and the importance of nurturing living things.\r\n\r\nThe garden has served as an exceptional tool for fostering sensory exploration, motor skills development, and teamwork among our students. It has also created a sense of pride and accomplishment as they witness the tangible results of their efforts, which has greatly boosted their confidence. The Learning Garden has truly been an inclusive space, where every student, regardless of ability, has been able to engage meaningfully.\r\n\r\nLooking forward, we are excited about the long-term benefits the garden will continue to offer. The lessons learned from connecting with the earth, cultivating plants, and observing nature's cycles will stay with our students for years to come. We are grateful for the space your donations have created and the opportunities you've provided for our students to grow—both literally and figuratively.\r\n\r\nThank you once again for making such a positive impact on our school community.
