Flexible seating has allowed my students to take charge of their own learning. During lessons, students cozy up in the meeting area by sitting on the rug and pillows. During independent work time, students get to move around and sit on yoga mats, lay on the rug, and sit on lawn chairs. They rarely choose to sit on school chairs.
My students are noticeably happier and are fully engaged in all they do. They make wise choices about where they sit and who they sit with. Flexible seating allows for productive partner and group work and creates a beautiful classroom environment where students love to learn.
The products I selected will provide additional seating space in order to accommodate all students in my class. Right now, students have to take turns sitting on the rug, crates, and bench I currently have. The benches I selected are flexible and can join together to make a table, which will allow more work space. The bean bags are light weight and easily moved so students can sit in groups. The tables will allow students to place their work and supplies when working on projects.
I am confident that my students are happy and productive in my class because of the choices they are able to make in their work space. I know that the extra seating this project will provide will help make our school year an even more positive experience.
