They love matching upper-case letters to lower-case letters. They also really enjoy sorting the dinosaurs by color. They have been practicing lacing to grow their fine motor skills. \r\n\r\nThe social-emotional learning tools have really helped my students utilize the quiet corner. They can choose from many different tools, such as a pop-it, emotions sensory tubes, or the emotions chart, to help identify their emotions. \r\n\r\nMy students loved seeing all the boxes come one by one to our class! Their eyes filled with joy each time I got to open a package with them and explain how we would be using it in class. \r\n\r\nIn the upcoming unit, we are learning about plants. I am very excited to use the flower garden building kit in our sensory bin. This will be especially helpful since we will not be able to grow a plant until the spring. The garden building kit will give them a hands-on way to use what they are learning in the unit through play.","fullyFundedDate":1758900702846,"projectUrl":"project/play-based-learning-centers-for-the-litt/9527545/","projectTitle":"Play Based Learning Centers for the Littlest Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rebecca","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8489343_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754116879272","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8489343"},{"teacherId":8489343,"projectId":9550666,"letterContent":"The alphabet sound tubs have been a great addition to our classroom! The supplies you helped fund didn't just support a performance—they sparked a transformation.\r\nOur students stepped onto the stage with pride, grace, and joy, embodying the rich cultural heritage they've come to love. But the impact reached far beyond the dance floor. In the classroom, they became more motivated, more confident, and more engaged. They now raise their voices with courage, share ideas with conviction, and embrace challenges with open hearts and minds.\r\nYour support helped them discover that stepping outside their comfort zone isn't something to fear—it's where growth begins. They've learned to think creatively, speak up when something doesn't feel right, and work together to find solutions. Their confidence in front of a crowd has blossomed, and their excitement for school has never been stronger.\r\nEven more inspiring? Their performance encouraged other students to join our dance club, creating a ripple effect of cultural pride, curiosity, and community. You didn't just fund a project—you helped build a movement.\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our students and investing in their dreams. Your kindness made a lasting difference, and we are forever grateful.\r\nCon cariño,\r\n Elizabeth Ramirez.\r\n AOA Elementary Spanish Educator & Folklórico Dance Club Leader.","fullyFundedDate":1741376307683,"projectUrl":"project/elevate-empowering-young-dancers-journ/9124150/","projectTitle":"Elevate, Empowering Young Dancers' Journey One Step to Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ramirez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9335537_orig.jpg?crop=360,360,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1698116193814","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9335537"},{"teacherId":5670607,"projectId":8869947,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my classroom. We got the class prizes, pillows, and games for the classroom. I put the class prizes in my prize box for the students to earn. They earn points for positive behavior in the classroom and when they reach a certain number of points they get to pick a prize from the prize box. They get very excited to pick a prize and are even more excited by the new prizes they see in there. They especially love the sticky hands. The pillows get used during our reading time, they can get comfy in the classroom with a good book in hand and stay focused on reading. Because of your donation the kids no longer need to argue over pillows and there are enough for the whole class to find a pillow to read with. The games are used during our choice time. They couldn't wait to get to play the new games, as our old games were tattered and had many missing pieces from previous years. \r\n\r\nMy students were over joyed to see the games/toys/pillows! When I was organizing them for classroom use they kept asking me about them and when they were going to use them. Next steps for my classroom are to learn how to treat their new games and materials. We talked about how these are new items and to keep them useable and together that we needed to treat them well and keep the parts together and clean them up when it was time to clean up. It is important for my students to learn how to treat materials respectfully and be responsible with them so that they can last for a long time. With that they will also learn to how to be responsible and respectful to shared materials around their classroom and hopefully around their house and for their future classrooms. \r\n\r\nThank you so much again, we really appreciate it!","fullyFundedDate":1738260641695,"projectUrl":"project/keep-the-learning-fun/8869947/","projectTitle":"Keep the Learning Fun","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Lapidus","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5670607_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1533959296957","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5670607"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_3730","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":620,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":57,"percentAsian":25,"percentBlack":19,"percentWhite":16,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":75.4,"schoolId":3730,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about The Academy of Alameda on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"The Academy of Alameda","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/alameda-unified-school-district/chipman-middle-school/3730"}
