It has been a joy-filled experience to see the magic of a mystery art delivery shared with our school population. Students stop by the art room to share in the newest additions to our school art vending machine! \r\nIt gives our art department enthusiastic participation from the creation of the art to its delivery into the hands of students who don't normally frequent the art department. While our goal to continue our vending machine art production is still going strong, many of our students want to move to a larger production by installing a larger vending machine or more across the school campus! Thanks to your support, we were able to acquire high-quality glazes and a professional documentation set, both of which have significantly enhanced the creative possibilities for my students. The range of vibrant glazes has allowed them to experiment and explore new techniques, while the documentation tools have helped them develop a deeper understanding of their artistic process and showcase their work with greater professionalism.\r\n\r\nThe transformation in my students' enthusiasm and passion has been nothing short of remarkable. They now approach each project with a renewed sense of excitement and pride, pushing themselves to explore new ideas and refine their craft. In this unit we began by going over a brief history of printmaking. During this process students were introduced to materials. Simply holding these materials and being introduced to the project, I knew students were excited and intrigued.\r\n\r\nThe art-making process began with eraser stamps which were inspired by Serena Rios McRae. These stamps allowed students to experiment with and learn proper use of the gouges. During this portion of the project students were eager to learn and quick to embrace the new medium and its processes. Once students were complete, we were able to create an inside-outside circle to collect and hear the meaning behind each stamp.\r\n\r\nThe next steps included a deep dive into linoleum. This included what the material is, how we came to use it, and the art-making process. Students began with a sketch and were able to complete their projects by printing on something aside from just paper. The joy and experimentation they experienced during this project is far from a memory. I see many students carry their tote-bag from class-to-class. Some even gifted their projects to friends or family.
