With your help each student had a book perfectly suited to their topic. As you know we read \"How the Word Is Passed\" A Reckoning with the History of Slavery Across America. I wish you could have witnessed each day how the students couldn't wait to read the next chapter. I have not seen the amount of engagement, questions and critical thinking skills in a while. Watching the students make connections to today was truly amazing! \r\n\r\nI shared the book with a fellow teacher she stopped by my class to tell me how good the book was, and she couldn't seem to put it down. She returned with a brand-new copy and apologized for highlighting and making notes. She said the thoughtful thing to do was to return a new copy. She bought a few additional copies for her book club. Between my students and my colleagues your gift was the gift \"that kept on giving\"!
