We intentionally selected nonfiction books that highlighted individuals who faced adversity, uncertainty, failure, and difficult circumstances but continued to persevere. Through these stories, students were able to recognize that success is not always immediate, and that confidence often develops through overcoming challenges. The books encouraged students to think about their own abilities, choices, and potential while connecting the experiences of the people they read about to challenges they face in their own lives.\r\n\r\nA major focus of the program was building self-confidence and perseverance. As students read about real people who continued moving forward despite obstacles, they were encouraged to develop the same mindset in their own academic and personal lives. The books helped students understand that setbacks do not define them and that perseverance, resilience, and a belief in themselves can lead to growth and success.
