Because of your generosity, my students did not simply read Shakespeare. They experienced it. \r\n\r\nOne of our favorite parts was bringing the plays to life in the classroom. Students chose characters and read their lines aloud, giving them the chance to become Romeo, Juliet, Prospero, Miranda, and other memorable characters. We laughed, reacted, discussed character choices, and watched stories unfold together. After reading, we watched movie adaptations and compared what we imagined while reading with how the characters, settings, and conflicts were portrayed on screen. \r\n\r\nYour donation created experiences that went far beyond simply having books on our shelves. You allowed my students to participate, perform, think critically, and discover that Shakespeare can be understood and enjoyed.
