The large print are a good choice for students with vision issues or Dyslexia, the paperbacks are good for those students who like to have books they can carry easily, the Spanish versions are wonderful for our English Language Learners and there are always those students who love the feel of a hardcover book!\r\n\r\nSince adding the books to the shelves in February, these books have been checked out by 52 students. Writing opinion paragraphs is something we do often in 3rd grade. The students love the topics that are in the magazines and have great brainstorming discussions with each other.\r\n\r\nI have noticed that students are practicing using context clues to learn difficult words. The articles are a great resource to help with learning how to paraphrase non-fiction texts. Finally, students are able to practice using text evidence by going back into the articles to find the answers to questions.\r\n\r\nThank you to everyone!
