These items have already had an incredible impact on our fundraising efforts. The students have been creating custom T-shirts for our fundraiser, and the heat press has been a game-changer. With its automatic operation, we no longer have to worry about mistakes during the vinyl application, allowing us to create high-quality designs with confidence. The printer and shredder have also made it easier to prepare materials and organize our fundraising efforts.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, we have been able to streamline our processes and produce multiple flyers to help promote our cause. The funds raised through these efforts will be used for our upcoming trip to Washington D.C. and New York at the end of the school year. Your generosity is helping to make this educational experience a reality for all of us, and we are truly excited about what's ahead. We are incredibly grateful for your kindness and support.","fullyFundedDate":1742923504560,"projectUrl":"project/travel-club-crafting-for-fundraising/9167933/","projectTitle":"Travel Club Crafting for Fundraising","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Walker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3573971_orig.jpg?crop=1585,1585,x470,y1384&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1645112089695","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ryanwalker"},{"teacherId":3573971,"projectId":9131933,"letterContent":"I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your generous donation of the podium and additional materials to our classroom. These contributions have made a remarkable impact on my 8th-grade students, particularly in helping them build both their speaking skills and their confidence.\r\n\r\nBefore we received the podium, many of my students struggled with the basic elements of public speaking, such as projecting their voices, making eye contact, and organizing their thoughts during presentations. The podium has provided them with a sense of structure and stability, and it has allowed them to present their ideas with greater clarity and poise. It's been incredible to witness the transformation as students who once hesitated to speak in front of the class are now excited to share their ideas, knowing they have a strong foundation to stand upon.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the podium, the other materials you provided were invaluable during our unit on Public Service Announcements (PSAs). These materials enabled students to create professional-quality flyers, posters, and handouts, giving them the tools to visually communicate their messages alongside their oral presentations. As we learned about the purpose and structure of PSAs, my students worked together to brainstorm important topics and design their own campaigns. The hands-on nature of this project allowed them to not only develop their public speaking skills but also their creativity and teamwork abilities. By combining the use of the podium for speeches with the ability to create supporting materials, the students gained a comprehensive understanding of how to communicate effectively to a broader audience.","fullyFundedDate":1740871863529,"projectUrl":"project/connecting-theme-to-life-through-reading/9131933/","projectTitle":"Connecting Theme to Life through Reading and Presenting","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Walker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3573971_orig.jpg?crop=1585,1585,x470,y1384&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1645112089695","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ryanwalker"},{"teacherId":3573971,"projectId":9033822,"letterContent":"Again, thank you so much for your generosity. Reading is the absolute essential necessity, in my opinion, to be successful in school. Many of my students do have low reading comprehension, but that does stem from the area and backgrounds of my students. Most of my students qualify for free/reduced lunch and although our school has been remodeled from a closed school, many things are lacking, including having a library without library books that first year. Yes, we have books now, but I feel it is not to the extent of other schools.\r\n\r\nCurrently I am teaching my 8th graders about The Holocaust. I remember reading Elie Wiesel's Night when I was younger and was amazed about his experience. When I knew I was going to cover this topic, this was the first go to novel. Every year my students have expressed that Night is one of the best novels they have ever read, and it comes as no surprise to me this year, that my 8th graders didn't want to put it down. We had amazing conversations, and many of my students have already asked for other recommendations to read about other victims and survivors of this horrid event in our history.\r\n\r\nThese materials have helped tremendously in creating posters, using the lamps to signal the need for help in different groups and the recorders to help students organize their thoughts. We are still struggling with getting the podium, but will be looking for other supplies.","fullyFundedDate":1736620422482,"projectUrl":"project/presentation-prepardness/9033822/","projectTitle":"Presentation Prepardness","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Walker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3573971_orig.jpg?crop=1585,1585,x470,y1384&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1645112089695","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ryanwalker"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108368","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":775,"numTeachers":38,"percentFrplEligible":49,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":95,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"4 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":67.2,"schoolId":108368,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Gallego Intermediate Fine Arts School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Gallego Intermediate Fine Arts School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/sunnyside-unified-school-district-12/gallego-intermediate-4-8-fine-arts-magnet/108368"}
