Because of you, my students now have the opportunity to learn with the Artie 3000 coding bots, and the impact has been immediate. I teach two combined coding courses where students are learning Python and foundational programming concepts. Learning to code is a huge task and not always easy; however, my students show up every day ready to grow. With these new tools, they are no longer just reading or typing code on a screen. Instead, they are experiencing how their ideas translate into real, visible outcomes.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, technology is not used simply for consumption but for creation. As students write code in Scratch and connect it to the bots, they see how a simple line of code can produce movement, patterns, and designs. Therefore, abstract concepts such as algorithms, sequencing, and debugging suddenly become meaningful. What excites them most is realizing that coding has real world applications, from programming drones to designing automated systems. Consequently, their engagement has increased significantly because they understand the purpose behind what they are learning.\r\n\r\nMoreover, I have seen students who were initially hesitant gain confidence as they watch their code successfully control the bot. Some who struggle in traditional settings have found strength in problem solving and debugging, while others have stepped into leadership roles by supporting their peers. As a result, collaboration and perseverance have grown in our classroom. Your support has transformed coding from theory into hands on innovation, and for that, I am truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1764787137754,"projectUrl":"project/coding-toys/9607799/","projectTitle":"Coding Toys","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Chango","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8646441"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60154","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":407,"numTeachers":57,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":10,"percentWhite":18,"percentIndigenous":8,"percentLatinx":58,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"7.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":64.2,"schoolId":60154,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Tonalea Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Tonalea Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/scottsdale-unified-school-district/tonalea-elementary-school/60154"}
