We are so appreciative! In 7th grade, students move to higher level problems and it slows them down to do tedious calculations to continue their work. Previously, it would take a long time to get every student situated with a calculator. Some students had calculators from home (all different kinds, which made instruction to use difficult), others either couldn't afford a calculator or didn't have one. This created \"begging\" to use their cell phones (not allowed). In short, this has saved time, given students a great, consistent tool and provided equity.\r\n In our classroom, we have a way to keep account of all the calculators without much monitoring. I wish I had invented this, but I read it somewhere. We named each one of our calculators (Betty, Max, etc.). The calculators are labeled with the calculator name and which box they \"live\" in. In the past, I had calculators stolen or lost when I provided them. We didn't have a way to find them. Now, they are almost like class pets! Believe it or not, 7th graders will spend a long time looking for \"Ricky\" when he's lost and return him immediately if he accidentally was put in a back pack in a rush.\r\n Thank you SO much from all of us. Almost 120 students a day use our calculators!","fullyFundedDate":1778199868438,"projectUrl":"project/taking-the-mystery-out-of-statistics-for/10255387/","projectTitle":"Taking the Mystery Out of Statistics for Seventh Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Moran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8376376"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_60147","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":713,"numTeachers":43,"percentFrplEligible":26,"percentAsian":3,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":50,"percentIndigenous":5,"percentLatinx":33,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":2,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"16.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":83.3,"schoolId":60147,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Mohave Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Mohave Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/scottsdale-unified-school-district/mohave-middle-school/60147"}
