Teaching Comprehensive Gifted Students requires different teaching methods and strategies for the students to engage and explore to inspire creativity and knowledge. Team Hallows students were very excited to use the materials provided from Donors Choose to inspire creativity and show their knowledge using different strategies. \r\n\r\nStudents were excited to dive into creating pod casts about social studies content from a traveling trunk from a local museum. They were able to provide specific researched based details about items from the pioneer time in Arizona and create a detailed pod cast for other students to listen to and gain an understanding of the history of the item and it's use during the pioneer era. The excitement on the students' faces was immense and the pod casts were so amazing to listen to.\r\n\r\nStudents were also excited to use the OZO robots, Makey. Makeys, and the Edison Robots. The students were assigned a different robot and were told to have the robot complete a task designed by them using the computer program which programs the robots. They had so many amazing ideas for the robots. Their creativity was highlighted while completing this task.\r\n\r\nStudents were also able to use the class set of Rubix Cubes and learn the strategies to solve the cube. The first step they were asked to complete was to create a \"Daisy Chain.\" Students Persevered through the process, and were thrilled when they were successful in creating the \"Daisy Chain.\" I loved their willingness to struggle to find success. As a teacher, it makes you so proud when they achieve success with a difficult task. \r\n\r\nThank you so much for donating to Team Hallows. We will use these items so many more times this school year. I am so excited to see more creativity from the kiddos.","fullyFundedDate":1768306929674,"projectUrl":"project/project-based-learning-using-pod-casts-s/10005776/","projectTitle":"Project Based Learning Using Pod Casts Sparks Students Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Hallows","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1096379_orig.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1626394746942","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/teamhallows"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_66257","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":650,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":9,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"18.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.6,"schoolId":66257,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Desert Trails Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Desert Trails Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/paradise-valley-unified-school-district/desert-trails-elementary-school/66257"}
