My students have significant needs in the area of sensory processing. Classroom time can be overwhelming and frustrating. Access to a multi-sensory area where they can take a break to reset their "thinking brain" will give them a way to improve their ability to learn, as well as regulate their behaviors that cause disruption in the classroom. Some students need breaks to calm over-stimulation, while others need more active movement. These various items provide opportunities for both areas of need. Learning will continue on the sensory patio as students explore and play.
