But that is what happened and why I've been able to write back so fast! I received the box Monday after school. The next day the same reaction came from my art classes! With your help in funding our projects, all of our students were supported with the Arduino, uno r3 microcontrollers parts that were necessary to explore the science of microelectronics. \r\n\r\nThe parts came just in time for students to plan, test and finalize their projects and get them ready for STEAM night. In addition, what I personally found useful was the color printer. The color prints were effective for explaining the color coded resistors and differentiating instructions with color prints instead of the normal black and white. The activity required them to work together and use the hoops to get across the field. The scooters have been a hit both in relays and in class games. I officially have a game library and students are enjoying learning new games and playing with their classmates! I think the most unexpected part of this project was the students that stepped up as leaders to teach other students a game that they knew how to play that others did not. Some of my quieter students got so excited to teach their peers how to play a favorite game.\r\n\r\nStudents now are choosing to play a game with peers when done with their work or if they are given some free time. Many of them choosing to play board and card games instead of games on the computer! I love watching students play \"IRL\" in real life and interact with each other.\r\n\r\nThis project was a huge success! I plan on putting up another board game project soon as students have requested some games that they love playing. This was a new project for me and my students and one that we learned a lot from! Students and I studied how circuits worked. Then we created a plan for either a drawing or sculpture that would incorporate the circuit into it. \r\n\r\nWhile originally I planned for all sculptures we adjusted and added the option to do a drawing for students at different levels of ability and understanding. This project was challenging but a lot of fun! Students really had to put on their engineering brains to get their projects to light up and trouble shoot when the lights didn't work.\r\n\r\nI will definitely be doing this project again.
