Many of my students are English learners who rely heavily on listening and speaking practice to build their skills. With these headphones, students were able to fully engage in audio-based activities without distractions, allowing them to better understand spoken English and improve their pronunciation.\r\n\r\nThese headphones were especially important during the AZELLA assessment, where listening and speaking are key components. Students were able to clearly hear directions, audio prompts, and questions, which helped reduce anxiety and allowed them to perform to the best of their abilities.\r\n\r\nBeyond testing, students have used the headphones regularly in class to practice listening comprehension, complete interactive language exercises, and participate in speaking activities. This has increased their independence, focus, and overall engagement. As a result, students are gaining confidence in their English skills and are more willing to participate both in and out of the classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1769178224135,"projectUrl":"project/helping-sei-students-find-their-voice/9865152/","projectTitle":"Helping SEI Students Find Their Voice!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Mendez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10335980_orig.jpg?crop=180,180,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761785685962","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mendez114"},{"teacherId":9070706,"projectId":9851787,"letterContent":"My students recently used these resources during a MathLeague competition that required a two-hour trip each way, making it a long and exciting day filled with anticipation. The snacks played a huge role in keeping students energized, focused, and comfortable before the competition and afterward as well. One of the most unforgettable moments was celebrating together when one of our students earned 1st place in the competition. The excitement, pride, and sense of accomplishment in that moment were incredible, and having the snacks to share made the celebration even more meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the snacks, their faces lit up with excitement. They were genuinely thankful and immediately understood how important they would be during such a long travel day. Several students expressed how much it meant to feel supported, and that encouragement helped boost their confidence and calm their nerves before competing.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our students are eagerly preparing for upcoming MathLeague competitions by continuing to challenge themselves and strengthen their problem-solving skills. The remaining snacks will be used for future competitions and extended practice days, helping students stay motivated and focused. Thanks to our generous donors, students not only felt prepared—they felt valued, encouraged, and celebrated. Your support made a lasting impact on their confidence and love for learning.","fullyFundedDate":1763494112259,"projectUrl":"project/snack-attack-help-fund-for-mesa-field-t/9851787/","projectTitle":"Snack Attack: Help Fund for MESA Field Trips!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Careaga","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9070706_orig.jpg?crop=180,180,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761084258980","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9070706"},{"teacherId":8395513,"projectId":9479442,"letterContent":"These last few weeks, students have had motivation to earn tickets in order to cash in for a reward. Many were ready to read every day and to read deeply. However, many were hesitant to try and held back by what they felt their limitations were. Having a class set of new books from day one showed them that I, as their teacher, believed in them and their ability to achieve.\r\n\r\nWe used our class set of The Lord of the Flies for both independent reading and reading as a group. Reading out loud was particularly useful because it gave my students confidence and allowed them to demonstrate what they had learned. We did a wide variety of assignments associated with Lord of the Flies. The students really enjoyed creating posters for the characters and symbols in the novel. These posters now decorate my classroom. Our class culminated with a final essay that emphasized collecting evidence from the text and synthesizing multiple perspectives. \r\n\r\nAt the end of our quarter I asked for feedback from the students and most students really enjoyed the book. A few even told me it was one of the best books they have ever read.","fullyFundedDate":1747866354946,"projectUrl":"project/lord-of-the-books/9337767/","projectTitle":"Lord of the Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Denner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10029456"},{"teacherId":9048289,"projectId":9145042,"letterContent":"Thank you again for the supplies for my text set. Of course, our first day will be reviewing literary criticism and Shakespeare, so the students are better prepared for the play that we will read during class. You can already see the vast improvement that these supplies have made for mending the books, which will allow more of the cohorts that pass through my class to read this text and not only improve their vocabulary, but also expose them to a text that is considered Early Modern English.","fullyFundedDate":1745328114352,"projectUrl":"project/make-books-long-lasting/9145042/","projectTitle":"Make Books Long-Lasting","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Reyes","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9048289_orig.jpg?crop=689,689,x2,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1684512407308","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9048289"},{"teacherId":8395513,"projectId":9147647,"letterContent":"Thank you again for supporting my project!
