Students use the whiteboards daily for brainstorming, problem-solving, and illustrating scientific concepts. One memorable moment occurred during a lesson on the Sun-Earth-Moon system, where students worked in small groups to draw and explain the positions of these celestial bodies during eclipses. The visual, hands-on approach encouraged deeper discussion and peer-to-peer teaching, fostering both engagement and understanding.\r\n\r\nThe whiteboards have become a cornerstone of our classroom activities, allowing students to model and refine their thinking in real time. As we move forward with lessons on topics like tides and lunar phases, these tools will continue to help students visualize and interact with complex scientific concepts. The ability to easily erase and rework ideas is building their confidence as learners, and the collaborative environment the whiteboards create has significantly enriched the way we explore science together.","fullyFundedDate":1730526596006,"projectUrl":"project/thinking-classroom-build-first-year-te/8753784/","projectTitle":"Thinking Classroom Build - First Year Teacher","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. McCormick","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9739207"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_97476","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":619,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":16,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":64,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":23,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"14.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":81.8,"schoolId":97476,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Centennial Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Centennial Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/higley-unified-school-district-60/centennial/97476"}
