Having the water tower in the classroom has been a huge benefit as students are getting more independent when using it and are able to control the amount of water when filling up their water bottles, measuring cups, etc. When the students first saw the water tower they were shocked that we would be able to fill various things in the classroom instead of going to the water fountain they had difficulties controlling.\r\nStudents have enjoyed being able to fill up their water bottles, put water in measuring cups when we cook, and even use the hot water button to fill up the cup for a Cup of Noodles. \r\nHere are several statements from students as to the benefits of having the water tower in the classroom:\r\n\"Seeing the water tower in the classroom reminds me to fill up my water bottle.\"\r\n\"Having the water tower in the classroom allows me to roll over to it and fill up my water bottle. Many of the supplies arrived at my class before school started making it possible to completely set my classroom up for success before students arrived. The first day of school was the best. I was able to explain to the students where all of our supplies came from and where everything was located. The school I teach at is a low income area. Many students were not able to afford school supplies so having everything for my classroom was extremely beneficial. Many students were able to let me know right away or privately if they needed a binder for either my class or another class. We were able to set their binders up with dividers to help them stay organized throughout the year. One of the first assignments they completed was labeling a map of the United States with the correct state name and capitol. They also had to color in states they have visited a specific color. Then they have to color in states they wanted to visit at some point and be able to explain why they wanted to visit at least one state as we went around the class to share.\r\n\r\nThe most important supplies for my students was the deodorant and toothbrushes. They were so happy to see there was a spot for those hygiene items. Two major things we think are simple and everyone should have, my students were so excited for. I had several students use these items within the first couple of days. Word spread to other grade levels that I had these items so I have students come in for them during passing period. Some students come on Thursday for a couple of toothbrushes to last for the weekend. I am very grateful to be able to help my students through these generous donations.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have come in handy for our students who are English Language Learners. They use they when working on assignments on the computer to help them understand better. Once it is time for state testing more students will be using them in order to take the test. Today was our first day back from Winter Break and several students were not prepared with a writing utensil and knew exactly where they could find one. Thank you again for helping provide an amazing school year to my students.","fullyFundedDate":1722036413302,"projectUrl":"project/survival-needs-for-8th-grade/8480193/","projectTitle":"Survival Needs for 8th Grade","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zagoya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9582339_orig.jpg?crop=881,882,x72,y295&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750705604905","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9582339"},{"teacherId":4050584,"projectId":8439032,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to this project and helping me get it fully funded!! The materials arrived and my staff and I have been busy creating the various resources mentioned in the projects description using the laminator and book binder. At this time, staff members are the only ones using the book binder and laminator to create the materials. We have made 14 Math Resource Guides, 14 My Word Books, and 15 Great Mail Race books. The map is hanging on the wall and we mark each state as we get a new letter. We have currently received 7 letters from other schools. I have also been busy printing, laminating, and using Velcro to create modified materials for several students to use.\r\nThe students have been able to use all of these resources when completing assignments in both my classroom and their general education classrooms. I am seeing the students be more independent by using one of the guides, folders, or calculator. For example, instead of asking me how to spell a word they are using their My Word Book to find the word they need to spell. Also, all subjects have now been color coded with the poly folders for students to keep their papers organized. They know when I tell them to get their blue folder and Math Resource Guides that we will be doing math work. \r\nI love seeing the students grow independently just by providing them materials they can use!","fullyFundedDate":1727143716677,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-supplies-for-the-new-school-ye/8439032/","projectTitle":"Classroom Supplies for the New School Year!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. McKeehan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4050584_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1701131772787","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4050584"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_56038","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":352,"numTeachers":18,"percentFrplEligible":52,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":48,"percentIndigenous":12,"percentLatinx":32,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"19.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":62.5,"schoolId":56038,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Camp Verde Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Camp Verde Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/camp-verde-unified-school-district-28/camp-verde-middle-school/56038"}
