Since receiving them, we've been using the Boomwhackers to explore steady beat, rhythm patterns, ensemble playing, active listening, and even introductory music literacy in a hands-on way that feels accessible and engaging for all learners. One especially memorable moment was watching students work together to perform simple melodies as a class community. They quickly realized that everyone's contribution mattered and that listening to one another was just as important as playing their own part. The colorful, tactile nature of the instruments has also been incredibly supportive for our kinesthetic learners and students who thrive with movement-based learning experiences.\r\nMoving forward, we are excited to continue integrating the Boomwhackers into both Lower and Upper Elementary music lessons through collaborative rhythm games, movement activities, composition work, and cross-curricular music exploration. Students are already asking when they'll get to use them again — always a good sign in a music classroom! Your support has helped create opportunities for joyful, community-centered music making and has given our students new ways to experience confidence, creativity, and connection through music.\r\nThank you and your family again for helping bring more sound, color, and excitement into our classroom. Your generosity is truly making a difference for our young musicians. 🎶💛","fullyFundedDate":1764694431692,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-bring-more-sound-and-colorful/9884567/","projectTitle":"Help Us Bring More Sound (and Colorful!) to Music Class","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tori","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10108248_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762615626608","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10108248"},{"teacherId":10108248,"projectId":9884608,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in fully funding our project, \"Help Us Build a Portable Robotics Classroom!\" Because of your support, our students now have consistent access to the tools they need to fully engage in robotics learning—without the barriers of limited shared resources. The addition of our own club laptop, portable projector and screen, and robotics table has completely transformed how we are able to teach, collaborate, and problem-solve. Students are now able to clearly see coding demonstrations in real time, test and iterate on their robot designs more efficiently, and work together in a more focused and organized environment.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is the sense of ownership and confidence this has created for our students. They are no longer waiting for access—they are actively leading their learning. Several students who were initially hesitant have really come into their own, stepping into leadership roles, troubleshooting independently, and helping their peers navigate both coding and design challenges. The portability of our setup has also allowed us to be flexible and responsive, bringing robotics into different spaces and making it more accessible and visible within our school community.\r\n\r\nWe were especially proud to use all of these new materials during our end-of-year recruitment event, where our student robotics leaders presented their work from this season to our PK–3 community. Being able to project their coding, demonstrate their robot on a full competition table, and confidently share their innovation projects elevated the experience for both presenters and younger students. It was a powerful moment of mentorship and inspiration, and it would not have been possible without your support.
