Our students are currently participating in our Jumpstart Program, where they attend daily math lessons designed to review essential skills, strengthen understanding, and build confidence for the upcoming school year. The new air purifier has helped create a cleaner, fresher, and more comfortable learning environment where students can focus on instruction with fewer distractions. Since the purifier was placed in our classroom, students have shared that the room feels fresher and more pleasant. Many were curious about how the air purifier works and were excited to learn that it helps improve indoor air quality by filtering dust and other airborne particles. Knowing that their classroom includes resources that support their health and well-being has helped students feel valued and cared for. This simple but meaningful addition has created a welcoming classroom atmosphere where students are eager to participate, collaborate with classmates, and stay engaged throughout our math lessons.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this project has extended beyond improving the physical classroom environment. During our Jumpstart math classes, students have remained focused, enthusiastic, and actively involved in their learning. A comfortable classroom setting plays an important role in helping students maintain concentration as they solve problems, participate in group discussions, and practice new mathematical concepts. As a teacher, I have noticed that students are more confident and willing to engage during lessons because they feel comfortable in their learning space. The positive environment encourages students to share their ideas, ask questions, and work together to find solutions. The air purifier has become an important classroom resource that supports both student wellness and academic success. It has allowed us to create a learning space where students feel prepared and motivated to achieve their goals. We are incredibly grateful for the generous support that made this project possible and for the opportunity to provide students with a classroom environment where they can learn, grow, and do their very best.\r\n\r\nThe success of the Clean the Air for Learning project has inspired us to continue expanding opportunities and resources that support student achievement. We are excited to share that we have launched two new projects: Fueling STEM Exploration with Rechargeable Batteries and Building a Strong Start with Classroom Essentials. The Fueling STEM Exploration with Rechargeable Batteries project will provide reliable power sources for robotics kits, calculators, and other STEM learning tools, allowing students to participate in hands-on activities that encourage creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. The Building a Strong Start with Classroom Essentials project will provide important classroom supplies that students need for daily learning and ensure they begin the school year prepared for success. Together, these projects will strengthen instruction, promote exploration, and provide students with equitable access to valuable learning resources. The impact of the air purifier project has shown us that thoughtful classroom investments can make a lasting difference in student comfort, confidence, and achievement. We sincerely appreciate the generosity and support that help make these opportunities possible. Because of this support, our students are beginning their learning journey in a healthier, more engaging, and inspiring environment where they can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1778199344821,"projectUrl":"project/clean-the-air-for-learningan-air-purifi/10162944/","projectTitle":"Clean the Air for Learning:An Air Purifier for Our Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rigodon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8024796_orig.jpg?crop=696,696,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1647556061257","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8024796"},{"teacherId":8024796,"projectId":10210429,"letterContent":"The approval of our Dry Erase Markers Project has already made a tremendous impact on our classroom. What might seem like simple materials quickly became powerful tools that changed daily routines, boosted confidence, and improved the overall learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe hands-free sanitizer was the first item to capture their attention. Students gathered around, curious and excited, watching as it dispensed automatically. For many, it felt almost like magic. That moment of curiosity quickly turned into habit. Students who previously needed reminders to sanitize their hands began doing so independently and frequently. The touchless feature removed barriers, making hygiene easy, quick, and even enjoyable. It empowered students to take ownership of their health in a way that felt modern and accessible.\r\n\r\nKleenex facial tissues became more than just a classroom staple—they became a symbol of comfort and care. Instead of hesitating or feeling embarrassed, students now confidently reach for a tissue when needed. This simple shift has helped create a more respectful and supportive classroom culture where students feel safe addressing their needs without disruption or discomfort.\r\n\r\nDisinfecting wipes introduced a new level of responsibility and pride among students. When they first saw the wipes, many eagerly volunteered to help clean desks and shared spaces. What started as excitement turned into routine teamwork. Students now actively participate in maintaining a clean environment, understanding that their actions contribute to the well-being of everyone in the room. This sense of shared responsibility has strengthened community and accountability.\r\n\r\nThe oil refills, though less visible, play a crucial role in maintaining a fresh and welcoming atmosphere. Students often comment on how the classroom \"smells clean\" or \"feels nice,\" reinforcing the idea that their environment matters. A pleasant space supports focus, reduces distractions, and helps students feel more at ease throughout the day.\r\n\r\nTogether, these resources have transformed not just the physical classroom, but the mindset of our students. They are more aware, more responsible, and more engaged in creating a space where learning can thrive. The initial excitement has evolved into consistent, positive habits that support both health and academic success.\r\n\r\nBuilding on this momentum, we are looking ahead to our next projects: \"Let Learning Shine: Fund a Robot Vacuum Mop\" and \"Clean the Air for Learning: An Air Purifier for Our Students.\" A robot vacuum mop would further involve students in maintaining a clean classroom while introducing them to innovative technology. An air purifier would ensure that the air they breathe is as clean as the surfaces they touch, supporting their health and ability to focus.\r\n\r\nOur students have shown that when given the right tools, they rise to the occasion. These next steps will continue to nurture a safe, engaging, and forward-thinking learning environment where every student can truly shine.","fullyFundedDate":1771105695173,"projectUrl":"project/spread-joy-not-germs/9967964/","projectTitle":"Spread Joy NOT Germs","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Rigodon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8024796_orig.jpg?crop=696,696,x0,y37&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1647556061257","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8024796"},{"teacherId":8024796,"projectId":9933371,"letterContent":"The introduction of the turn-in-your-work organizer, bins, caddies, and storage boxes has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our classroom. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a sense of pride and ownership over their learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe turn-in-your-work organizer has become an essential part of our daily routine. Students now confidently submit their assignments without confusion or reminders, knowing exactly where their work belongs. This has reduced misplaced papers and helped students develop accountability and responsibility. They are more mindful of completing tasks and turning them in on time, which has strengthened their organizational habits.\r\n\r\nBins, caddies, and storage boxes have transformed how materials are managed in the classroom. Students can easily find what they need and return items to their proper place when finished. This structure has encouraged independence and teamwork, as students actively participate in keeping the classroom organized. Transitions between activities are now smoother and faster, allowing more time for meaningful instruction and engagement.\r\n\r\nThe overall classroom environment has become calmer and more efficient. With less clutter and clearly defined spaces, students feel more focused and less overwhelmed. These pillows have become more than just classroom items, they are a source of comfort since each one of them got one. They help my students feel calm, safe, and relaxed, like they have their own safe and special place in the classroom. They take care of them and truly value them. All of my students said, \"Wow! Thank you for giving us pillows in the classroom. We love it.\" I reminded them that these came from generous donors, and their smiles and joy in that moment were unforgettable. \r\nThe play dough has also had a meaningful impact. I always believed it would help, but seeing it in action has been incredible. Each student received one, and they use it in most of our activity like working, independent activity, early finishers, IXL, and even during testing time. Many students quietly hold and shape it in one hand while completing their work with other. This simple tool has helped them stay calm, focused, and relaxed. It gives them a way to release stress and manage their feelings while learning. I also added it as a tool in our Calm Corner with pillows and books in the book bins.\r\nBook bins have also been very useful. Now, students can easily access books anytime during early finishers and independent time. The important and engaging books are arranged in the book bins.
