Last year was my first year teaching 5th grade math and I noticed my students needed more. For many, fractions were an abstract idea, keeping place value in order was challenging, and decimals in different forms was a challenge. Over the summer, I set out to find manipulative to assist in these topics. \r\n\r\nYour donations have made a vast improvement in my students' understanding this year. They are able to access the tools whenever they need them and use them correctly. I have watched students manipulative numbers like never before. The whiteboards are a daily asset and help all students stay organized. I have had may teachers come by and compliment the boards and them to their own lists. The fractions tiles are magic makers. They help explain so many ideas and add a real visual to the words. \r\n\r\nAgain, thank you so much. To start, the anticipation for these goals was through the roof. The students asked me every day when they were going to arrive. Finally, the day came, and it was the most amazing feeling. \r\nUnfortunately, we had quite a wet fall. It took us a few days to put them up once they arrived, and when we did, the students showed up! Despite the muddy ground, they all ran to the goals and began to play. What amazed me was the cooperation between the students. I have seen our inclusion efforts soar through sports, especially soccer. \r\nThis has not only impacted my classroom, but the entire school. Students are so excited for recess and quickly begin a pickup game of soccer. I cannot wait until the spring so we can begin a club sport. \r\nThank you so much for your generosity. The students were so excited to see all the yummy and healthy snack options they were sent. They couldn't wait for the day we had Veggie Straws or the day they got to try the ZBars. We are also excited to have more Clorox wipes in our classroom so we can wipe up our tables when we are done for the day. \r\n\r\nWithout support like yours, these students would not be able to focus as much on their learning because of their hunger. With your donation, my students can eat a snack when they are hungry. When my students are having a tough moment during, the day, I can offer them a snack and they will take the snack and begin calming down. \r\n\r\nI also have various students who come to my classroom throughout the day for a break. Some of these students benefit from a quick snack before returning to their regular classroom. \r\n\r\nMy students were excited when they saw the boxes of snacks.
