It is more meaningful than I can put into words. \r\n\r\nThere was a point this year where I worried that one of my students would never be interested in reading. He was capable of reading the words on the page, but he had no motivation to read when it was time in class. There were days where he would sit with his head buried in his arms when it was time to read. I knew I needed help. \r\n\r\nMy reading coach brought him to her room and introduced him to the Dog Man book series. All of a sudden, he couldn't wait to read! He was flying through those books and always wanting to go to her room to swap and get another one. It made me so happy that he was finally finding joy in reading! \r\n\r\nWhen I told him that we would be having a whole set of Dog Man books delivered to our class from kind people all over the country, his jaw dropped to the floor. He was speechless! I cannot express how excited he was about the books arriving. Anytime we opened a package, it was like Christmas for him. Not only that, but his excitement for reading influenced others and got them excited to read! He even introduced Dog Man to some of his classmates who are now big fans as well. It has had a lasting, positive impact on him and the other students in my class. He still asks if he can come to my classroom to get a book and see me, and that makes my teacher heart smile real big.
