With the materials provided we were able to expand the lesson to include making models of the life cycle of a butterfly and even writing and coloring photos about butterflies. The students were so excited when the materials arrived and we loved the opportunity to watch the metamorphosis from small caterpillar to a beautiful monarch butterfly. The students were a bit upset when we had to release them but for the rest of the year every time they saw a butterfly they were convinced it was one of the ones from our classroom.
