The Nex Playground has quickly become one of the most powerful tools we use to bring learning to life.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nOne of our favorite classroom moments happened during a recent STEM lesson focused on patterns and sequencing. Students worked together to complete movement-based challenges where they had to follow and predict patterns on the screen. I watched as students who are often hesitant to participate stepped forward, smiling and volunteering to lead their group. They encouraged one another, celebrated successes, and even helped problem-solve when someone got stuck. It was a moment of confidence, collaboration, and joy that simply wouldn't have happened with traditional materials.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhen the Nex Playground was first introduced, the excitement was immediate. Students' eyes lit up, and many couldn't wait to try it. Some who typically struggle with engagement were instantly drawn in by the movement and interactive visuals. Laughter, cheering, and teamwork filled the room—it was more than just a new resource; it was a new way for them to experience success.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThanks to the travel case, we've also been able to bring the Nex Playground into different learning spaces, including inclusion classrooms and sensory areas. This flexibility has allowed even more students to benefit, ensuring that the impact of your donation reaches beyond just one room.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, our next steps include integrating the Nex Playground into a larger STEM project focused on problem-solving and engineering design. Students will work in teams to complete a series of challenges, reflect on their strategies, and even design their own movement-based \"games\" inspired by what they've learned. This will help deepen their critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration skills.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nYour support has done more than provide a resource—it has created opportunities for connection, confidence, and meaningful learning. From the moment the materials arrived, my students were filled with excitement—eyes wide, smiles bright, and questions pouring in. When they saw the new tables set up as a dedicated technology station and each student having access to their own mouse, it felt like a brand-new learning experience just opened up for them.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWe are now using these resources every day during technology time. The tables provide a structured, comfortable space where students can focus and collaborate. The class set of mice has made a huge difference—students who once struggled with touchpads are now navigating programs with ease. The colored dots for left-click and right-click have been a game changer, especially for my younger learners. Instead of feeling frustrated, they now have a simple visual guide that builds independence and confidence. The Velcro strips have helped us stay organized, allowing students to quickly access and return materials without losing valuable learning time.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nWhen students first used the new setup, their reactions were priceless. Many of them immediately noticed how much easier it was to complete tasks. I heard comments like, \"This is so much easier!\" and \"I can do it by myself!\" That sense of independence is exactly what they needed. Students who were once hesitant are now eager to participate, and they take pride in their ability to use technology successfully.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nCurrently, students are using these tools to complete digital literacy lessons, practice math and reading skills through interactive programs, and build foundational computer skills. They are learning how to click, drag, highlight, and navigate with accuracy—skills that are essential for their academic growth.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the next steps for my students include applying these skills to more advanced projects. Because of your support, they are now prepared to move beyond the basics and engage more deeply with technology. This project has done more than provide materials—it has built confidence, increased engagement, and opened the door for meaningful, independent learning. Thank you for making such a lasting impact on my students' growth and success.","fullyFundedDate":1764186009913,"projectUrl":"project/a-table-for-technology/9861828/","projectTitle":"A Table for Technology","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6556575"},{"teacherId":6556575,"projectId":9439884,"letterContent":"Thank you for helping turn our classroom into a team of Coordinate Conquerors! Because of your generosity, students can now explore coordinate grids through hands-on, engaging activities that make math exciting and meaningful.\r\n\r\nStudents are plotting points, creating designs and maps, solving real-world challenges, and building confidence as mathematicians. The biggest change has been their excitement—students who once felt unsure about math are now eager to participate and share their work.\r\n\r\nYour support provided more than supplies; you gave my students confidence, curiosity, and a love for learning. We are using the new resources daily during math lessons, small-group instruction, and hands-on learning stations. One memorable moment was during our \"Fraction Café\" activity, where students used fraction manipulatives to model real-world scenarios like sharing pizzas, baking recipes, and dividing snacks. Students were able to physically build fractions, compare them, and explain their thinking using academic math vocabulary—something that was much harder for them before having these tools.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to touch, explore, and ask questions. Many students said things like, \"This makes fractions make sense!\" and \"I finally get why 1/2 is bigger than 1/4.\" The hands-on nature of the resources helped reduce math anxiety and increased confidence, especially for students who previously struggled with abstract fraction concepts.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, students are now ready to move into deeper learning. Our next steps include applying fractions to real-world problem-solving, such as measuring ingredients, creating fraction-based art, and solving multi-step word problems. Students will also begin explaining their reasoning through written responses and peer discussions, strengthening both their math and communication skills.\r\n\r\nBy supporting this project, you didn't just donate materials—you helped build confidence, curiosity, and a strong foundation in math that will support our students far beyond this lesson. Thank you for giving our students the opportunity to learn fractions in a meaningful, engaging, and memorable way.","fullyFundedDate":1759254949546,"projectUrl":"project/fractions-in-action-hands-on-math-for/9483606/","projectTitle":"“Fractions in Action: Hands-On Math for Elementary Learners!”","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6556575"},{"teacherId":9589404,"projectId":9739265,"letterContent":"When we first received our package from you, I told my students that it was a surprise that a very nice group of people sent them to use in our classroom. They were so excited! We opened the box and they absolutely LOVED the seat cushions. They really liked unpacking them, taking off the plastic and watching them rise to their size from being vacuum sealed. I explained to them how and what we were going to use them for and they jumped up and down and shouted for joy! \r\n Of course, they were not as excited about the \"fuzzy feet\" for their chairs, but once I explained their purpose to the sudents, they were very grateful. Before, students often struggled with background noise and distractions, which made it harder for them to stay focused during independent work. Now, each child has their own set of headphones, and the change is clear: they are more engaged, able to concentrate on their tasks, and excited to use our digital learning programs without interruptions.\r\n\r\nThese headphones have also given my students a greater sense of independence and confidence. Programs like i-Ready, phonics practice, and math fact fluency are now much easier for them to complete at their own pace. Many students who were once hesitant are now eager to dive in, knowing they can fully hear the instructions and activities. The overall classroom environment feels calmer and more productive, and my small group lessons are smoother since students working independently are less likely to get distracted.\r\n\r\nThanks to this project, my students now have the tools they need to learn in a more focused, personalized way.
