My students now have the reassurance of knowing that they can count on having a snack at school. I have noticed a meaningful change in our classroom community because of this consistency. Students line up, wait patiently for their turns, and have learned to share the experience without fighting over what is available.\r\n\r\nI have also noticed that students no longer seem embarrassed when they did not bring a snack from home or are still hungry. They know that I will make sure they have something to eat. Having a variety of snacks has also made snack time exciting because students enjoy having choices and trying different foods.\r\n\r\nMy students were so excited when the snacks arrived! What has meant the most to me, however, is seeing how comfortable they have become with the routine. Snack time is now a predictable part of our day where students know they are cared for and have what they need.\r\n\r\nWe are continuing to build our classroom community while connecting our learning to meaningful, hands-on experiences. Our upcoming Apple Week will give students opportunities to explore literacy, math, science, and creativity through apple-themed investigations and activities. The apple juice, graham crackers, and applesauce arrived just in time. I don't have to ask parents to provide anything extra for our week. My students were introduced to Apple Week and immediately made the connection when they saw the snacks. They are so happy, and it brings tears to my eyes to see them so eager and carefree.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping me create a classroom where my students can learn, participate, and feel cared for. Your generosity has provided more than snacks.
