We are able to learn about a new science skill, and then use the manipulative's to further our understanding. My students loved being able to watch our five caterpillars all turn into a beautiful butterfly inside our classroom. Allowing the students to observe the exhibit each and everyday gave them the opportunity to see the changes in the butterfly life cycle in real life. Seeing my students reaction when we were able to let our butterflies free on our playground, was a moment I will never forget as a teacher. They often go missing or get left alone. Providing my students with these label makers will allow them to have for our classroom but also supplies to take home as well. I plan to use these label maker for my students to clearly label each book and all their materials in the classroom with the appropriate reading level and their names.\r\n\r\nI've used colored stickers in the past, but they kept falling off and I'd have to tape them.\r\nThe book labels will be used to organize the books by reading level so that students can easily access books at their level. They will also be taught to return the books to their appropriate bin when they've finished. This assignment was done after we saw the movie in which we compared and contrast using a Ven Diagram. The students got to enjoy and experience what it was like to read a book and explain what they read and what they imagined what was read.
