I used my funding to add books to our classroom library and to order math manipulatives, as my students are very hands-on learners. \r\n\r\nAs the boxes of books started arriving at the school, my students became more and more excited. The books make great read-aloud opportunities, especially some of the books that are holiday themed. My students also really enjoy the Magic School Bus books and relating them to what we are learning about in the classroom during our science lessons. These books are helping show my students that literacy is not just in learning how to read, it is all of the subjects that we are learning.\r\n\r\nThe math manipulatives are a great help in teaching my students various math skills, including addition and subtraction, money skills, and place value. My students are often fidgety and like to be moving around, so having something in front of them that is concrete and able to be touched helps them focus and draw solid connections.
