They were excited, curious, and immediately ready to learn. The black lights, glowing materials, and neon review games transformed our classroom into a fun and engaging space during an important time of year.\r\n\r\nOver the two days, we used the materials for reading and math review activities focused on key EOG skills. One of the biggest highlights was our glow review stations, where students moved around the room solving problems, completing challenges, and working together to review standards we've been practicing all year. Students stayed engaged the entire time, and even those who are usually nervous about testing were eager to participate.\r\n\r\nThese activities gave my students a chance to review in a way that felt exciting and encouraging instead of stressful. The energy in the room was amazing, and students kept talking about how much fun they were having while learning.\r\n\r\nAs we continue preparing for the end of the year, my students are using the confidence they built during Glow Day to keep pushing themselves during review and classroom lessons. This experience reminded them that learning can be fun, memorable, and something to look forward to.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create such a special experience for my third graders during EOG season!","fullyFundedDate":1772800661295,"projectUrl":"project/glow-and-grow-celebrating-student-succe/10099749/","projectTitle":"Glow and Grow: Celebrating Student Success Through Glowing Review Experiences","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Davidson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5828634"},{"teacherId":5828634,"projectId":10093505,"letterContent":"When my students first walked into our glowing classroom, they were amazed. The room instantly filled with excitement, smiles, and so many \"WOW!\" reactions. They could not wait to start learning with the glow sticks, neon games, black lights, and interactive review stations. What normally feels like a stressful time of year quickly became something they looked forward to each day.\r\n\r\nWe used the materials during our EOG review rotations for reading and math. One of my students' favorite activities was our glow review scavenger hunt where they worked together to solve standards-based questions using glow markers and task cards around the room. I also created movement-based games that allowed students to practice important skills while staying engaged and active. Seeing students cheer each other on, collaborate, and stay focused during review time was incredibly rewarding.\r\n\r\nThese resources helped create an environment where students felt excited to learn and more confident in themselves. Some of my quieter students became more willing to participate, and many students who usually feel nervous about testing began approaching review activities with a more positive attitude.\r\n\r\nAs we continue preparing for EOG testing, we will keep using our glowing learning tools during small groups, review games, and skill practice activities. My goal is to continue building confidence while helping students strengthen the skills they need to be successful. This project gave my students more than just classroom materials — it gave them excitement, encouragement, and a learning experience they will always remember.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping my students glow and grow during such an important time in third grade!","fullyFundedDate":1771608229354,"projectUrl":"project/glow-and-grow-transforming-our-classroo/10093505/","projectTitle":"Glow and Grow: Transforming Our Classroom Into a Glowing Learning Lab","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Davidson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5828634"},{"teacherId":5511071,"projectId":9911986,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting my DonorsChoose project, \"Building Leaders One Point at a Time.\" Because of your generosity, my students now have prize items and a rolling cart to create a classroom reward store.\r\nStudents earn points through ClassDojo for positive behavior, leadership, and hard work. With the use of the LCD boards, writing has taken a nonthreatening viewpoint. I decided to implement the boards in my small groups. This allowed me to test run how to effectively use it. I didn't want the students to think the boards were merely a toy. I used with math first. The kids loved it!! They were ready and awaiting for their chance to respond their answers to me. I am using it now for reading interventions. I see so much potential incorporating it more and more in my classroom. On Tuesdays, I have several student pull outs that left me with only about 10 students. I now use the boards with that group. They know how to properly \" use it and not abuse it\" (as we say in our classroom). I look forward to continued use of the LCD board. Academics are so important to learning but so is the opportunity to use hands on materials in the classroom. Many of my students love to doodle on their paper during instruction time. The materials provide instructions for creating their artwork and designing a masterpiece.\r\n\r\nThe Legos have also been a fun activity to use. Students are working together, which is building social skills. They are also following directions in the \"how to\" book. They are problem solving and using their imaginations to create figures.
