Since its addition, students have been able to keep their Chromebooks powered throughout the school day, allowing them to stay engaged in lessons, complete digital assignments without interruption, and manage their learning more independently.\r\n\r\nThe charging station has significantly reduced downtime caused by low battery issues and has helped students remain consistently connected to vital digital learning tools. With reliable device access, they can fully participate in classroom activities, conduct research, and stay on track with their assignments.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the charging station is its convenience and accessibility. It offers peace of mind, knowing they can quickly charge their devices without missing valuable instructional time. Many students appreciate the independence it provides in managing their technology needs.\r\n\r\nIn particular, students who previously struggled to keep their devices charged—often due to limited access to chargers at home—have especially benefited. They've become more responsible with their Chromebooks and more confident in class, now that they no longer have to worry about losing access due to a dead battery.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting tools that enhance student learning and promote responsibility. The Chrome charging boost station has truly made a difference in our classroom environment.","fullyFundedDate":1742183896755,"projectUrl":"project/chrome-boost-station/9152603/","projectTitle":"Chrome Boost Station","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Xiong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9936786"},{"teacherId":1648502,"projectId":9139042,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to Adaptive arts! This was the first year the art room partnered with the special Education teacher in the self contained classroom to have students come down to the art room to enjoy art making. We had an idea to not just let them create and be creative, but also to help them with occupational skills (holding and using pencils, pens markers, brushes), problem solving skills (how can I paint not using a paintbrush? What does it look like if I mix paint in soap bubbles?) and creating friends with other students. \r\nThis impacted the students as a whole more than we expected. The self contained kids LOVED being able to visit the art room to create, and showing off things they made! Their favorite was painting the plant pots and then being able to give to other teachers with a flower they planted for them! They got to experiment with candle making, painting, just a little bit of everything! \r\nMy favorite part of this project was having the self contained students come to the art room with art club to experiment together. The art club students loved working with them, and it was wonderful to see those friendships bloom, and watch my art club students grow their empathy for others!","fullyFundedDate":1741104700942,"projectUrl":"project/adaptive-arts-fun/9139042/","projectTitle":"Adaptive Arts Fun!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Guigley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1648502_orig.png?crop=398,398,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694696901151","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1648502"},{"teacherId":9752610,"projectId":9267224,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your generous support of my classroom project! Because of you, my 7th grade students now have access to a wider selection of graphic novels. These are books that truly engage them and make reading feel exciting and approachable. For many of my students, traditional novels can seem overwhelming, and having these graphic novels available has opened up a whole new world of reading.\r\n\r\nAlready, I've seen students who used to shy away from independent reading time eagerly flipping through the pages of their new books. Graphic novels are helping them build vocabulary, strengthen comprehension skills, and—most importantly—develop a more confident reading identity. It's a joy to watch their eyes light up when they find a story that speaks to them.\r\n\r\nThank you for making that possible. Your donation didn't just provide books—it gave my students the opportunity to grow as readers in a way that truly resonates with them. You've helped create a more inclusive, engaging, and encouraging classroom library, and we're all so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746125985099,"projectUrl":"project/graphic-novels-for-7th-graders/9267224/","projectTitle":"Graphic Novels for 7th Graders","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zander","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9752610_orig.jpg?crop=962,962,x0,y160&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754676941976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9752610"},{"teacherId":9935609,"projectId":9142659,"letterContent":"I want to express my deepest gratitude for your generous support of our classroom project. Thanks to your contributions, our learning environment has been transformed in ways that are both practical and inspiring for my middle school students.\r\n\r\nYour donations helped us bring in a classroom carpet for collaboration and flexible seating, a musical chime for focus and transitions, and personal whiteboards and markers for student engagement. These additions have made a noticeable difference in our daily routines and the overall classroom atmosphere.\r\n\r\nThe students were especially excited to see a carpet in a middle school classroom—something they don't usually get to experience. It quickly became a favorite space for independent reading, writing, and collaborative activities. The flexible seating gives students the freedom to choose how they work best, something that helps them feel more comfortable and respected in the learning process.\r\n\r\nThe personal whiteboards have been a game-changer. Students love using them to write quick responses, practice skills, and participate more actively in lessons. These tools make it easier for every student to be engaged and give me a quick check for understanding. The musical chime has also been a subtle but powerful tool—it creates a calm and respectful signal for transitions and helps recenter our focus during busy class periods.\r\n\r\nAs we wrap up the school year, I'm already looking forward to continuing to use these resources in even more meaningful ways next year. I plan to incorporate strategies like think-ink-pair-share using the whiteboards to deepen student discussion and critical thinking.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a more flexible, engaging, and responsive learning environment for my students. Your generosity has truly made a lasting impact.","fullyFundedDate":1741262207287,"projectUrl":"project/proud-to-be-el/9142659/","projectTitle":"Proud to be EL","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Thor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9935609"},{"teacherId":5423229,"projectId":9058052,"letterContent":"These STEM resources have been a great addition to my classroom. It was great to have the resources to offer this to the students.\r\n\r\nWe are working on physical and chemical changes in our science classes. Many of the students were able to use the slime for their projects. I was happy to have the supplies to allow them to make slime as their project. The purpose of requesting these books was to give students access to stories featuring a variety of different characters. Our school is incredibly diverse, and it is really important for students to feel represented in the media that they consume. It can be a challenge to get kids excited about reading, but when kids actually see themselves in their books, they feel more motivated to read. \r\n\r\nMy ELA classes read books of their choice on Mondays and Fridays for 20 minutes each week. On other days, I read aloud to them. This semester, we are reading one of the books that was donated! So far, the students are incredibly engaged. Having contemporary options that are relatable to pre-teens greatly increases the likelihood that they will be attentive! Additionally, they are excited to read the next few books in the series once we finish. \r\n\r\nSeveral of my more hesitant students have already read a few of the donated books, and they told me that they enjoyed them! That's a huge win in and of itself :) \r\n\r\nWe greatly appreciate the donation, and we will cherish these books for a long, long time.","fullyFundedDate":1729811088375,"projectUrl":"project/diversifying-our-classroom-library/8790688/","projectTitle":"Diversifying Our Classroom Library","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Zander","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9752610_orig.jpg?crop=962,962,x0,y160&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754676941976","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9752610"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_121384","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":381,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":22,"percentBlack":8,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":78.8,"schoolId":121384,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wilson Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wilson Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/appleton-area-school-district/wilson-middle-school/121384"}
