The materials we were able to access through this project have helped us to build meaningful connections in our classroom. \r\nThe biggest game changer was the purchase of the storage racks for our floor seating. The floor seats come in handy when we do small group instruction, the trouble was that they were always falling down and took a lot of classtime lining them up just so to avoid having them tip over and spill across the floor. The addition of the racks in our class, allows us to roll the seat where ever we will meet a small group in the room. Taking them out and putting them away is much faster and when not being used they are safely out of the way. \r\nThe 3 hole punch has helped students to manage their paper work by allowing them to quickly punch holes in their work so they can file their work in the appropriate places in their binders. \r\nThe snacks purchased were used to reward positive behaviors in the class. Table groups who earned the most team points for displaying the 5 Rs throughout the week could choose a snack. Students looked forward to this and it seems that the snack helped to motivate them to display those positive behaviors. \r\nFinally the labels, poster tape, cardstock, and tack it over have helped students stay organized, find things in our classroom easily, and gave them easy access to resources that allow them to interact with each other in meaningful ways. \r\nThank you so much for your generosity in supporting this project!","fullyFundedDate":1759466167911,"projectUrl":"project/building-meaningful-connections-with-our/9777560/","projectTitle":"Building Meaningful Connections With Our Learning, With Each Other","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Yi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3559296_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1504240821325","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3559296"},{"teacherId":8821975,"projectId":9781248,"letterContent":"These DonorsChoose supplies made a meaningful difference in my classroom by creating an organized, engaging, and supportive learning environment for all students. The leveled books you provided have already made a huge difference, and I wanted to share a few moments that show just how impactful your gift has been.\r\n\r\nHow we're using the new books\r\nWe introduced the books during our small-group reading time, and the students immediately gravitated toward them. The leveled sets have allowed me to match each child with stories that fit their reading abilities—giving them the perfect balance of challenge and confidence. This week, we began a \"Read & Share\" project where students choose a book at their level, practice reading it, and then share their favorite page or character with a partner.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments so far was when a student who has been hesitant during reading activities proudly read an entire book aloud to me and then whispered, \"I can read this all by myself!\" That spark of confidence was unforgettable and made possible because the books are just right for their learning stage.\r\n\r\nTheir reaction on Day 1\r\nWhen the students first saw the display of new books, they gasped—literally. Several children ran their hands across the covers, pointing to characters they recognized and pictures that caught their eye. A few immediately sat down on the rug and started \"reading\" together before I even gave instructions. Their excitement was pure, joyful, and contagious.\r\n\r\nWhat's next\r\nMoving forward, we're beginning our next classroom goal: building stamina during independent reading time. With these new leveled books, each child now has a selection they can truly engage with, making it easier for them to stay focused and grow as readers. We'll soon be creating \"My Favorite Book\" mini-posters, where students draw their favorite scene from a book they've mastered.\r\n\r\nThank you again for giving my young learners access to stories that empower them, excite them, and help them grow every single day.
