They have been excited to take their ideas from the classroom and turn them into something they can share with others. One of the most exciting moments is watching students work together to solve a problem, make changes to their designs, and celebrate when their ideas finally work. These projects give students a chance to be creative while also practicing important skills like problem-solving, communication, and perseverance.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new materials, they were excited to see all the possibilities. They immediately wanted to touch, explore, and start building. The resources have helped make our maker activities more engaging and accessible, giving students more choices for how they can bring their ideas to life. Students love being able to create something with their own hands and then explain how and why they made it.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to take our maker projects out and about by giving students opportunities to share their creations and ideas beyond our classroom. Students will continue testing and improving their designs while practicing how to explain their thinking to others. I am excited to see how they take what they have learned as makers and use those skills to approach challenges in other parts of their learning and in the world around them.","fullyFundedDate":1693288468034,"projectUrl":"project/taking-maker-projects-out-and-about/7733005/","projectTitle":"Taking Maker Projects Out and About","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Maynard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6047351_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1543701784666","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/maynardsf"},{"teacherId":10421569,"projectId":10067879,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting The Free Space Club! It is really disheartening, as an educator, to start in a new school and not immediately have access to even the most basic of items. The fan, cleaning supplies, and the vacuum have been especially helpful in creating a clean and comfortable room for my students and I to work together every day. \r\n\r\nAs a speech-language pathologist, my goal is to equip students with the communication skills they need for both academic success and confident self-expression.
