The supplies funded — from basic classroom essentials to sensory tools, reading supports, and personal-care items — have removed so many barriers that often get in the way of their learning.\r\n\r\nStudents who used to hesitate to start assignments now have the right tools at their fingertips: highlighters and reading strips to help them focus, pencils and erasers they can always count on, and organizers that make materials easy to find. The sensory sand, stress balls, and adaptive scissors have allowed my students with sensory and fine-motor needs to participate with confidence instead of frustration. Even items like deodorant wipes and hygiene supplies have had an enormous impact on their comfort and dignity at school.\r\n\r\nEvery one of these materials has helped create a classroom where students feel prepared, supported, and capable. My students are more engaged during lessons, more willing to take risks, and more confident in themselves as learners. This project didn't just stock a classroom — it gave my students the accessible, affirming environment they deserve.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in them. The calming corner has quickly become a favorite spot for students. They love exploring all the fidgets, settling under the weighted lap blanket, relaxing in the swing, and sinking into our giant bean bag. When they first saw everything, you could see their excitement at having a comfy space to take a break when they feel overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nThis space has been especially helpful for my freshman cohort, who are still adjusting to the big transition into high school. They can get easily overstimulated or stressed, and having a place where they can pause, breathe, and regulate themselves has made a huge difference. Many of them have learned to advocate for their needs by asking for a calming break.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, we'll continue teaching students to use this space intentionally by recognizing their emotions and choosing tools that help them reset. My students and I are enjoying the supplies as it has helped our classroom unit on daycare/child development centers. \r\n\r\nWe used the baby toys, diapers, wipes, and rug to turn our classroom into a simulated infant classroom with the help from our RealityWorks Child Care Experience infant simulation package. \r\n \r\nThe students had a blast getting to work with the infant toys and I can't wait to work with next years group of students! \r\n\r\nAt the end of our class, the students helped me clean up and put away the toys and materials. Then we used the lollipops to debrief and share how the activity went and overall the students enjoyed the activity and would recommend it to their peers!
