Students could choose any magazine they wanted from about 6 different issues. Then, together within a group, they analyzed each article for clues to identify the author's purpose. What made this activity exciting, was that students had different options and could choose something that personally interested them. It can be a challenge to find engaging articles for kids without the right resources, so thank you for giving me the materials to make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1734813669807,"projectUrl":"project/turning-pages-igniting-passions/8692465/","projectTitle":"Turning Pages, Igniting Passions","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ryder","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4974835_orig.jpg?crop=2400,2400,x0,y248&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1637626294688","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/jryder"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_71092","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":496,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":63,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"19.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":77.1,"schoolId":71092,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Wilde Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Wilde Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/michigan/warren-consolidated-school-district/wilde-elementary-school/71092"}
