In a busy classroom environment, noise can easily become a distraction. Headphones help block out background sounds, allowing students to concentrate on lessons, independent work, and digital activities. They also support differentiated instruction by giving students access to audio books, read-aloud features, language supports, and instructional videos without disrupting others. This has been especially helpful during small group rotations and testing situations, where focus and clarity are essential.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the headphones is the sense of independence they provide. They love being able to plug in, control their volume, and fully immerse themselves in their learning. It makes technology-based activities feel more personal and engaging. For many, it feels special and empowering to have their own set of headphones to use during learning time.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially warmed to this new technology—particularly those who are easily distracted, sensitive to noise, or benefit from sensory support. I have noticed students with attention challenges staying on task longer and showing increased confidence. Some of my quieter students participate more readily when they can listen privately and work at their own pace. Overall, the headphones have created a calmer, more focused learning environment where all students can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1765986871410,"projectUrl":"project/blocking-out-noise-turning-up-learning/9784237/","projectTitle":"Blocking Out Noise, Turning Up Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Vann","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9197589_orig.jpg?crop=1987,1987,x0,y225&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741373965193","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9197589"},{"teacherId":8829721,"projectId":9472847,"letterContent":"Our students use the stress-relief items as part of their daily emotional check-in and self-regulation routine.
