The sand trays and figures have helped my elementary students express themselves in new and powerful ways. These trays are more than just a playful activity; they serve as a medium for self-expression and emotional exploration. Not only do the students love them, but playing with the sand has also built stronger bonds between us as they become more comfortable sharing their inner worlds.\r\n\r\nThe sand trays are a particular favorite activity of one of my students who recently lost her mother. This young girl has found solace in the sand, using it as a calming outlet to process her grief. Through her play, she has begun to open up, sharing her feelings and experiences, which has allowed me to support her in a more meaningful way.\r\n\r\nI am very grateful to Donors Choose for making this resource available to my students. I am also able to print pages that they want to share or use for projects in color as well. This has been a delightful addition to our classroom.\r\n\r\nReplacing some of our non-working headphones was also such a bonus to the students. We use technology every day, multiple times a day.
