My students and I both loved the convenience of the little bottles that your donation has provided. We filled the little bottles with the glue, and the students were able to have an individual bottle of glue while they were working on their balsa wood cranes and their solutions to the ablative heat shield design challenge. The students appreciate the new glue guns and glue sticks, especially during the building of the bottle rockets. The Gorilla super glue has become the students' go-to for putting together models created on our 3D printer. The students also used the Gorilla glue in conjunction with the new stapler you gave us and some painters' tape to create a removable screen to protect our greenhouse cooling pad reservoir. The students have used the rubber bands and paperclips in projects where they captured chupacabras and made wind turbine blades. Your gifts have really allowed the students to \"stick\" their solutions. We truly appreciate how kind, generous, and noble, especially since you chose to fund our \"not really exciting grant.\" This basic grant has allowed the students to be excited about their solutions because they know we have enough \"sticky\" supplies to hold the materials of their ideas together. \r\n\r\nOne young lady made an incredible heat shield from lasagna and glue. Her heat shield withstood five minutes of two propane torches and protected her \"astronaut,\" which was an egg. She loved the project and loved that she was the first to be successful. She could not have done that without the glue from you. I appreciate that you \"stick\" with us through your donations as I try to give my students unique opportunities that will hopefully ignite a passion that will \"stick\" with them into adulthood.\r\n\r\nThank you again! It is also cool to see their faces light up when we talk about the fact that this is why fireworks have the ability to produce different colors.\r\nI will continue to use these new bulbs to replace the old, broken bulbs that I used to have and to continue to show students the rainbows of the elements.","fullyFundedDate":1746477375562,"projectUrl":"project/elemental-rainbow/9148242/","projectTitle":"Elemental Rainbow","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Cooper","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3124842_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1523498734665","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/wwhsrcooper"},{"teacherId":47531,"projectId":9159228,"letterContent":"Thank you again for the generous donations and your thoughtfulness in bringing a digital piano to my classroom. It truly tested the grit and determination of even our best traditional drone pilots. There were a lot of \"ummm, Mrs. Kastl this isn't going the way it should\" and \"Mrs. Kastl this doesn't operate like a drone- it's opposite.\" Then once one of them got the hang of it; the others were less intimidated and eventually were successful at driving it. We also quickly learned that real life situations versus wave tank simulations do not compare. We thought it would be easy to see and navigate underwater based on our wave tank labs. Not so true. The Army Corps of Engineers allowed us to come to the Kerr Scott Reservoir and test our Gladius in the lake. It was a very cold morning and it had rained several days prior to our arrival so the visibility in the lake was very poor. The students quickly learned that search and rescue is much harder than what is shown in media. Real life is cold, murky and when you are just learning to use a new piece of equipment in the field, it can be frustrating and exciting at the same time. The students loved every minute. They compared the Gladius to each of the aerial drones in our fleet. They decided that in order for a mission to be truly successful with the Gladius that it would be better to have an aerial spotter drone in the sky. Redundancy, makes a good mission better. Thank you so much for giving the students and future students the Gladius to hone their drone skillsets and their adaptability to challenge.
