Seeing the kids validate their native language literacy has been amazing, it really creates a strong bridge for picking up English. Building up those primary language skills gives them a solid foundation that speeds up their English vocabulary and boosts their overall confidence. Giving them the exact same books we read together in whole group, but now letting them listen in smaller groups in their own language, has made such a huge difference for our little learners.\r\n\r\nOf course, if you ask the kids, they're just thrilled to \"play games\" on the new iPads! What they don't realize is that they're actually learning real coding logic. They get so hooked on mastering concepts just to get to the next level. We had one student who was super quiet and pretty intimidated by the new tech at first. Language barriers made the screens look intimidating, so they just hung back to watch everyone else. Now he is the first to get on during centers!","fullyFundedDate":1781561816136,"projectUrl":"project/small-screens-big-dreams/10335411/","projectTitle":"Small Screens, Big Dreams","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Schwartztrauber","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9238212_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693362998232","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9238212"},{"teacherId":10527504,"projectId":10328332,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting my classroom project, \"Help Us Print, Learn, and Grow in Math and Science!\" My students and I are truly grateful for your generosity. Because of your donation, we now have a printer that helps me create learning materials that are useful, organized, and easy for my second graders to use during math and science. This printer has already helped me make math folders, anchor charts, reference sheets, and student resources that support what we are learning in class.\r\n\r\nThe printer has made a big difference because I am able to print materials that help my students better understand important skills. For example, I created math folders with addition and subtraction fact fluency charts, making 10 strategies, number lines, and other helpful tools students can use when they are working independently or in small groups. I also created \"ketchup\" folders to help students keep track of unfinished work in a fun and organized way. These resources help my students stay focused, build confidence, and take more ownership of their learning.\r\n\r\nMy students are excited to use the materials because they are colorful, organized, and made just for them. Having access to a printer allows me to quickly create visuals, practice pages, and hands-on resources that meet my students' needs. Your support has helped make our classroom more engaging and student-centered. Thank you again for believing in my students and helping them grow as mathematicians, scientists, and confident learners.","fullyFundedDate":1781110283935,"projectUrl":"project/help-us-print-learn-and-grow-in-math-a/10328332/","projectTitle":"Help Us Print, Learn, and Grow in Math and Science!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. McKenzie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10527504"},{"teacherId":6007124,"projectId":9783086,"letterContent":"I hope this letter finds you well. With the desk bands and sensory cushions, students can wiggle, stretch, and move in appropriate ways while staying focused on their work. The floor seats have given students flexible seating options that help them feel relaxed, supported, and ready to learn during lessons, reading time, and independent work.\r\n\r\nThese resources have helped improve focus, reduce restlessness, and create a calmer learning environment. I've noticed students staying engaged for longer periods of time, and they are excited to come to school knowing they have tools that support how they learn best.
