Your generosity helped us begin the school year in a positive, welcoming, and nurturing way. The snacks and classroom incentives created small but meaningful moments that helped students feel comfortable, supported, and excited to be part of our classroom community.\r\n\r\nThese snacks and goodies helped build relationships, celebrate effort, and keep students motivated. Early in the year especially, those moments helped create a strong foundation of trust and connection between students and our classroom. \r\n\r\nAt our school, learning is out-of-the-box, adventurous, and imaginative, and we ask students to think hard & take risks with their ideas. In a space like that, students also deserve the small joys that make school feel special. Because of your support, my students now have access to a wide variety of materials that help build the strong foundation they need in 6th grade science at WHEA. Developing a deep understanding of the scientific method and the engineering design process is essential for our work, and the resources you provided have helped make these concepts visible, tangible, and exciting for students.\r\n\r\nThe posters and visual materials have been especially wonderful. In our fluid and adventurous classroom spaces, we often move between learning areas, and students regularly pull these visuals from our classroom cart to reference during investigations, discussions, and project work. They have become a living part of our learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe learning centers have also been incredibly valuable. They provide opportunities for independent work, reinforcement of key ideas, and enrichment connected to many of the NGSS concepts we have been exploring. Students are able to dive deeper, work at their own pace, and continue building curiosity about how the world works.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest hits has been the terrariums, which have served as a powerful hands-on reinforcement during our ecosystems unit. Students loved observing and discussing the systems inside them, and it brought our learning to life in a way that only real-world exploration can.\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful for your generosity and belief in our students. Thanks to you, our classroom continues to be a place of curiosity, exploration, and discovery. We are also eagerly looking forward to our owl pellet dissections, which will take place soon after we complete our very first scientific research papers—a huge accomplishment for our sixth graders this year! Thank you again for helping make this such a memorable and meaningful year of learning.","fullyFundedDate":1766000475922,"projectUrl":"project/stem-for-a-6th-grade-super-start/9889391/","projectTitle":"STEM for a 6th Grade Super Start","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Pele","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9968051_orig.jpg?crop=3024,3024,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741834005021","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9968051"},{"teacherId":9378977,"projectId":9825212,"letterContent":"Our document camera has made a huge difference in our classroom!
