This has helped me to give students a scientific phenomenon for them to think about before beginning a unit or topic. Many students didn't understand how the tides are formed on Earth. From this information, the students asked lots of questions and we were able to answer some from the knowledge of the students in the room. They have since planted flowers in one of the large garden beds and want to plant vegetables in the other one as soon as the soil is ready.
