The students were super excited when they came back this year and saw the beautiful rug in the room. The carpet fits well with the theme/color of my room and the children are enjoying the calming color. The students are so engage with the Critter Cage for observe the insects that we found outside and inside the classroom. It help us in many ways. First of all, to respect all kind of lives, even the insects that they were scared as a spiders or insects with a lot of legs. Because, when we found some of them, we had them for one or two days in the critter cage and we where able to explore how they were, what they did, draw them and get more closer and lose the fear because they became more familiar. They were so excited every time that they found an insect to welcome him/her into the classroom for a few days (and I'm saying \"were\" in past tense because now with the winter is more difficult to find insects). I attached pictures of the different animals that they drew. We were able to name parts, colors, attributes...which help them to extend they're vocabulary. Even, some of the students with speech needs, were so engaged that it motivates them to try to use and learn more words to describe or name the insect. \r\n\r\nAlongside side with this, the books that you gave to us help to extend their passion to learn more about insects and then other animals. And the fact that they are in Spanish help us to develop their pre-skills to read, as sounds letters or being familiar with the print. Sometimes is difficult in the school find books in Spanish and we cannot always count with print in the books to teach, so thank you for that too.\r\n\r\nAnd finally, we are also so grateful for the fidget toys for the kids with special needs. The last two months, two new kids with special needs came to our classroom, and we were able to present them all this toys, let them choose which one worked better for them to regulate their emotions and make their first days in the school and the transitions so much smooth, easy and calm.\r\n\r\nFor all the good impact that your gifts already made to our classroom and for the better times that will come thanks to that, we really appreciate you.","fullyFundedDate":1724778248215,"projectUrl":"project/everybody-engaged-in-science-center/8704302/","projectTitle":"Everybody Engaged in Science Center!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Alba","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9707112"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_30334","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":126,"numTeachers":12,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":49,"percentWhite":13,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":20,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - Pre-K","studentTeacherRatio":"10.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":72.3,"schoolId":30334,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Urbana Early Childhood School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Urbana Early Childhood School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/urbana-school-district-116/washington-early-childhood-pgrm/30334"}
