My passion for teaching started over 20 years ago. What was supposed to be a summer job working with young children grew into a love for education. I changed my career path and have worked with pre-kindergarten aged students ever since. My classroom serves 30 students ages 3-5, with a wide range of abilities. The families that my classroom serves are at or below the poverty level or are in other "at risk" categories. Every pre-kindergarten classroom needs a variety of learning materials to ensure that learning is differentiated for all students. However, there is not enough school funding to provide my classroom with the variety of materials that is needed to ensure student success. I often spend my own money to ensure that the students in my classroom have a variety of learning tools at their fingertips.
