Because of your generosity, our students were able to create their very own reading buddies!\r\n\r\nAs families arrived, students eagerly chose their materials and got to work creating and naming their reading buddies. There were smiles, giggles, and so much pride as each child brought their buddy to life. One of the most meaningful moments was when students signed their adoption certificates, promising to read to their reading buddy each night. They took this responsibility seriously, and it made reading feel personal and special.\r\n\r\nSince that night, students have been proudly wearing their reading buddies on their backpacks and bringing them to school to share with friends and teachers. These reading buddies have become more than just a craft. They are a daily reminder and motivation to read. We've encouraged families to make reading part of their nightly routine, even during busy moments, by having their child read aloud to their buddy.\r\n\r\nThis project has helped strengthen the connection between school and home while building excitement around reading.
