In a wonderful recent classroom moment, one of my students successfully matched and zipped up a jacket completely on their own after practicing with our new fine-motor box. Seeing the bright smile and intense focus on their face as they mastered a skill they used to struggle with was truly unforgettable. \r\n\r\nMoving forward, our next steps are to build on this momentum by introducing more advanced challenges. We plan to transition from folding small towels to organizing larger clothing items, and we will begin using play money to practice the basics of paying bills and shopping. Students will practice budgeting to purchase everyday essentials like lip balm and personal tissue packs.\r\nStudent Reactions\r\nWhen the students first saw the classroom store cart and the stack of brand-new planners, they were absolutely thrilled. They immediately began picking out their favorite colored planners, and their eyes completely lit up when they saw the store cart stocked with fun pens and items they actually use every day. Having these high-quality, adult tools made them feel a deep sense of pride and ownership over their daily learning.\r\nOur Next Steps\r\nNow that our classroom store economy is ready to keep developing, our next step is to bridge these habits into the community.
