It has helped us learn lessons of hydroponics, food shortages, nutrient cycles, and so much more. My students love coming with their Ziploc bags to harvest lettuce, basil, arugula, and other salad veggies that we've been growing. \r\n\r\nThis generated so much interest that in addition to my classes, my Environmental Club has taken interest. The club and my classes are taking a field trip to our local community garden to see their large hydroponics system. The organizers of the community garden want to place a greenhouse on our property and help our students build our own system. \r\n\r\nThis is certainly my favorite funded project, as it generates interest with all of my students, and even the teachers in the building. My AP kids monitor the watering and nutrients, and always look forward to seeing how things have changed.
