This air dry clay has been a good introduction to using clay and starting with projects like the pinch and coil pots. Some students had never touched real clay before and this was a great sensory exploration. \r\nThe next project we worked on was using a bowl as a mold to form cut clay shapes over the mold to create a dish. The next projects we will be doing will be a slab triangular box that will be either a slice of cake, pie or pizza. This will be done with my 2nd-5th grade students. Some of the younger students will be doing their pinch pots during standardized testing, which is a great activity this time of the year.\r\nWe have been using the tempera cakes to paint the clay, which works awesome. \r\nMy goal is for all students to make at least one clay project before the end of the year. Thank you again for your kind donations for my art classroom.
