The chikitas gave my students a new sound to add to the music that we sang. The lion costume added something special to our musical performance. My students don't have to guess where to go, the tape helps them get into place. Each of our 4 autism classrooms were able to receive a bike helping more than 20 students. The students were so excited to learn about the new addition to their classroom. So far, the students have used it in two different ways. The first way is on a break where they see how fast or long they can pedal. This is a great way to get their energy out and help them focus for upcoming instructional sections. The second way students have been using it is while they work. Students have been pedaling while working on assignments to help them focus as well. We have noticed an improvement in our students' focus during learning sessions following the use of time on the bike. I think it is going to be a very beneficial activity for our students to use when they need help regulating their body.
